Last updated 15 October 2026

These terms apply to the lerne.now iPhone app and this website, together with Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. By creating an account you accept them. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

Who we are

TODO: name and postal address of the person or company that runs lerne.now.

Your account

Subscription

Parts of lerne.now are free, and a subscription unlocks the rest. The app shows the plans and their prices before you buy.

Using lerne.now

lerne.now is for your own learning. Please don’t:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Unless the breach is serious, we will warn you first.

Your content and ours

What you enter, such as your name and your answers, stays yours. You allow us to use it to run lerne.now for you, as the privacy policy describes. The lessons, texts, audio and design of lerne.now belong to us or to those who license them to us.

Generated content

Parts of each lesson are made for you by AI services: the German for your own details, the spoken audio, and the checks of answers that don’t match exactly. We work to keep them correct, but they can contain mistakes. lerne.now teaches everyday German. It is not an official course and does not lead to a certificate.

Changes and availability

We keep improving lerne.now and may change, add or remove lessons and features. We aim to keep it running at all times but can’t promise that it always will be. If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.

Liability

We are fully liable for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory product liability law applies. For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an obligation that is essential to these terms, and only for the damage typical of and foreseeable for this kind of agreement. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

TODO: have this section checked against the law that governs these terms.

Law

TODO: the law that governs these terms, such as German law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
